About Us
Located in
the heart of the North Center community of Chicago, Lincoln Park
Savings Bank was founded by James J. Kane, Sr. in 1948 with the acquisition
of the Ogden Hills Savings charter. The bank's first location was near
Lincoln Avenue and Armitage Avenue – the gateway to Lincoln Park.
The bank moved to its current location on Irving Park Road in 1956 and
started as a single storefront operation. The offices were expanded in 1959
to accommodate the ever-growing customer-base.
Lincoln Park Savings Bank's current President and CEO is James J. Kane
III,
who took over the position held by his late father, James J. Kane, Jr. in
the 1970's.
One of the few mutually owned independent banks Lincoln Park Savings
Bank has taken great pride in remaining a community-based residential
mortgage lender, a tradition started by "Grandpa" Kane in 1948. It is a
point of pride with the bank that over 74 percent of its customers are from
the neighborhood.
Today, our commitment to personalized, convenient service lives on.
Beginning in 2001, we expanded our operations to include other Chicagoland
communities with the additions of our North Harlem
(formerly Elmwood Park) and Roscoe Village
branches.
